AFS has created an online forum for information exchange between presenters and online attendees will provide AFS members whose meetings have been canceled due to COVID-19. This virtual event (1) provides an opportunity for AFS members who prepared presentations but had their event canceled to share that information with a broad audience, (2) creates a solid science delivery event for AFS members (and others) to continue with the mission of AFS of sharing good science, (3) allows members to remain connected, share thoughts and concerns, and learn from and lean on each other in this challenging time.
Registration for these sessions is free; however, attendees are encouraged to donate to the Hutton Junior Fisheries Biology Program, as part of the $10,000 matching gift challenge.
All proceeds raised will be put toward the Hutton Junior Fisheries Biology Program. AFS invests 100% of all funds received for Hutton back into the program, with 80% going back directly to the Hutton Scholars in the form of internship payment and program related expenses. Each year, this program gives $120,000+ back to high school students around the United States, Canada and Mexico. Please contact Katrina Dunn at kdunn@fisheries.org with donation and sponsorship questions.
